Notified Area Council (NAC)

In India, a Notified Area Council (NAC) and a Municipality are both local government bodies that are responsible for the administration of a specific area. However, there are some key differences between the two.

One of the main differences between a Notified Area Council and a Municipality is their size and population. A Notified Area Council is typically smaller and has a lower population than a Municipality. NACs are usually established in areas with a population of less than 50,000, while Municipalities are established in areas with a population of 100,000 or more.

Another difference between NACs and Municipalities is their level of autonomy and the scope of their powers. NACs have less autonomy and fewer powers than Municipalities. They are typically responsible for providing basic services such as water supply, waste management, and public health, but they do not have the same level of control over planning and development as Municipalities.

Overall, the main difference between a Notified Area Council and a Municipality is the size and population of the area they administer, as well as the level of autonomy and powers they possess.
